C. difficile outbreak could affect CHEO for weeks

It will likely take weeks before an outbreak of the infectious bacteria known as C. difficile at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario can be declared over, hospital officials say. The hospital reported Thursday it was treating three patients on ward 4-North, where they are now being kept in isolation. There were no new cases overnight, said Ann Fuller, CHEO’s director of public relations.
