Crown wants carjacker of police widow declared a dangerous offender

OTTAWA — Crown prosecutors will seek a court order to have the knife-wielding attacker who carjacked the widow of Ottawa Const. Eric Czapnik designated a dangerous offender. Kevin Ransdell was found guilty of robbery and forcible confinement for the June 27, 2010 attack on Anna Korutowska, whose husband was stabbed to death outside the Ottawa Hospital Civic Campus on Dec. 29, 2009.
