Barrhaven shooting victim was ‘trying to make better choices,’ family says

The victim of a shooting in Barrhaven on Sunday wasn’t perfect, his family said Tuesday, but he was also a loving person and adored by his family and friends. Eric Vongviset, 34, died after he was shot outside of a home on Charleston Street early in the morning. It is Ottawa’s 10th homicide of the year.
