收购方fairfax听起来很牛的，过去27年平均年成长23%，比巴菲特的成绩不差。

Before Nortel was collapsed in 2011, then CEO Roth has exercised his STOCK options and made over 100 million US. If you remember what Roth said before the collapsed, he said Nortel was doing fine/great....
In the last decade, Nortel has to re-submit its financial statements three years in a row, WHY?
The CFO, CEO, and ? were sued?
I don't understand why the government at that time (Jean Chretien, then Paul Martin), not charging Nortel Senior Management, they have fiver years (2001 to late 2005) to act, but they didn't.
RIM is much better than Nortel....

In November 2001, Roth was replaced as CEO of Nortel Networks by Frank Dunn. Roth is currently living in retirement in Orangeville, Ontario, Canada.
Nortel stock price plunged in Jan 2001, after he exercised his stock options. He retired ten months later. (I wish I have 1 % of his 100 million US, then I can retire)
I read some articles in the past on Nortel, like there was a small investment company in California don't invest in Nortel, also how Nortel made the book looked good hence stock price went up (then later exercise stock options).
The current government seems to be more cautious (to RIM) then government at that time to Nortel.
Nortel stock price has reached highest to 106 US (?) and now worthless.
I know people lost a lot money because of Nortel, some have to defer their retirement indefinitely because of their (Nortel) RRSP.... And I don't know why government at that time not taking any action???
I am not an economist, and I hope some CFC members who are economists can say something on this issue.

That was a typo in the year, it should read 2001, instead of 2011, sorry for the confusion.
Actually, I doubt anybody will exercise stock options when Nortel stock price is penniless! (Common sense).
Actually ROTH said something in early Jan 2001 and he exercised his stock options before Nortel stock price collapsed, Nortel stock price started to plunge in mid Jan 2001.
Timing is important.
And, it is a crime to use insider information to buy and sell stocks. He has the real Nortel financial situation....
