Sometimes a picture says it all.
The City has two photographer/videographers to document daily activities and events. The images they capture help tell the story of Ottawa. These images are used on ottawa.ca, in promotional materials, and on social media.
However, not every image is used. Here are some of the images Phil Renaud and Chris Bricker have captured this past year that you may not have seen.

Looking for older photos of Ottawa? The City’s history has also been captured on film and many of these photos and photo collections are accessible at the City of Ottawa Archives. They have over 3 million photos in their collection. The City owns the copyrights for many of these images and permission can granted to use them commercially.

Researchers and residents can access the City Archives’ collection of over 3 million photographs either in person at the City of Ottawa Archives or through its growing online catalogue of images on Ottawa Museums and Archives Collections. To order a photograph, contact Reference Services at archives@ottawa.ca or call 613-580-2857
