Sometimes a picture says it all.
The City has two photographer/videographers to document daily activities and events. The images they capture help tell the story of Ottawa. These images are used on ottawa.ca, in promotional materials, and on social media.
However, not every image is used. Here are some of the images Phil Renaud and Chris Bricker have captured this past year that you may not have seen.
Figure 1 A helmet and gloves – part of the Canadian Building Trades Monument – Phil Renaud
Figure 2 An eerie view of the Aberdeen pavilion at dusk on a grey evening – Phil Renaud
Figure 3 Children from a City camp smiling for the camera – Chris Bricker
Figure 4 A deer hides in the woods in the Carp Hills - Phil Renaud
Figure 5 Dow's lake in the spring - Chris Bricker
Figure 6 Tulips captured on film - Chris Bricker
Figure 7 Strawberry season in the ByWard Market – Phil Renaud
Looking for older photos of Ottawa? The City’s history has also been captured on film and many of these photos and photo collections are accessible at the City of Ottawa Archives. They have over 3 million photos in their collection. The City owns the copyrights for many of these images and permission can granted to use them commercially.
