Ottawa storm 2022: Is it time for the city to bury hydro wires as part of street projects?

A vicious storm that knocked out power to more than 170,000 Hydro Ottawa customers could provide reason for the city to consider burying hydro lines in more street renewal projects.

It’s why property owners in Kanata North had to pay a special levy over 10 years to bury hydro wires on a short section of Kanata Avenue at a cost of about $2.5 million.
