[问题][请教]有什么Windows上的Email Server是用UNIX MBOX format的

要从redhat 的Evolution还到Windows XP的Eudora
虽然两者都声称自己用的是MBOX format,但rename以后Eudora不能正确识别带attachment的邮件

将Evolution的MBOX文件上传至Linux email server,再用Eudora下载,就能正确识别.


因为现在在Evolution下面设了100多folder,一个folder地下一个MBOX文件,上传/下载的操作太麻烦了,想找一个在XP上的email server,这样就不用上传再下载了.

Why need such a swith?

I think the best solution is to keep using MBOX under Linux(as most UNIXes do).
I used it everyday.
My home network configuration as a reference for you:
Sendmail as MTA,
Mail spool is /var/spool/mail/username
Imap server on the mail server
on Linux, run pine/elm/netscapemail as mail client talking imap protocol.
on Windoze, run outlook/outlook express talking imap.

collect all your POP2 email account on internet using fetchmail into your mail spool.

The mission is to migrate email archive in Evolution(on Linux) with over hundreds folders/sub-folders to Eudora on WinXP.

If that is your job, then you can try these steps:
1. use evolution to move those folders back to mail spool using imap protocal.(just drag and drop)
2. use eudora to "get" those "new" mails from the mail spool using either imap or pop3(better use imap so that the mail are kept on mail spool unless your job is to move it to local eudora mail store)
