telnet to Home from School

May I sign on my computer, which is in home, from school? Using telnot can do it?

I am using cable through the houseowner link to the internet.

yes, as far as you know your IP address in home and telnet service is running(you firewall does not block it)
why not use SSH which is much more secure.

The TCP/IP has the inmofrmation of - IP Address - Subnet Mask - Default Gateway. These information is enough for logon home computer?

How to use it in school? The SSH is installed in school, as well as telnet. What command may logon the home computer?

Forget to say that. The OS is Window/XP. I want to use the home computer which the software is in.

VNC is not secure. Running VNC over SSL is the best.

Because I don't have a laptop, and can't bring the software with me when I am in school.

I also buy a movable Hard-Driver, and use it in school. In a way, it is a flexible way. BuuuuuuuT ..... moreover, It is a good way to logon the home computer when I am using school-computer. Thus, I only make the home computer power on, and use the home-software in school.

I want to know that can I do it? how to do? It seems that TELNET and SSH can do, but I still puzzle with it, and still don't know how to use it.

So, I don't need to buy a notebook, and just logon home-computer in school, and use these software, which is installed in home-computer, in school.

I have XP installed in the home-computer, and the school-computer OS is XP too.

I doubt there isn't too much windows software you can "run in telnet".

I guess enable "remote desktop" or use "VNC" is more likely your option,
but you need the IT of your school's permission to set it up. Also,
you will need to concern the security issue of your home machine...

When using telnet, it asks to fili out the 'Hostname' - which is the my home-computer IP address.

How to know my home-computer address?

what is the parameter for telnet? for example, I logon the UO web - > telnet ugate.site.uottawa.wa

how to telnet my home IP address? Is it >telnet my IP Address above? which is 192.168.0.XX?

还不是WAN连LAN, 是一个LAN内的机器连另一个LAN内的机器.
难度有点大, 不过还是可以实现的. 需要在路由里设置端口映射.

另, 楼主要的功能TELNET是做不到的. 要用远程控制.
