I bought a brand new Yamaha 48' piano from Toronto in 2001, $4100 including taxes and delivery. The same model was sold in a piano store on Bank St, Ottawa with more than $5000 plus taxes. The store's name is Yamaha Music Gallery, (905) 731-7725 100 Steeles W, Thornhill, ON.
To be honest, Richler and Perl River pianos are not as good as Young Cheng and Samick (made in Koera). Both touches of keys and the sound quality. There is a "Ottawa piano" in bank street, they have samick.
Alternatively, you may try digital piano. about $3000 you can get a nice one. They are better than most low end upright pianos. (P.S, for digital piano, Roland and Technics are better than Yamaha or Casio.) You can check our Roland and Technics in Campbell Douglus.

2 北京星海还给ＫＡＷＡＩ生产ＫＡＷＡＩ牌子的钢琴，Samick买下了Yang Chung，但大多数Samick是印度尼西亚生产的，据说质量现在还不如中国的琴。珠江还生产Heilman, Ritmuller, Weimar, Hansen, Richter and Yamaha。多数销售点都对星海和珠江给予较高的评价。但对Strauss评价较低。
3 Rischler的音板（sound board）是整块实木的，效果比较好。Samick的是木板拼成的。
4 服务好的店有：
