Responsibilities
Systems Engineering/Technical Sales support of key partners and customers for Centera solutions to be introduced. Partner with direct and indirect Sales Account Managers as the technical lead and subject matter expert for Centera. Assist primarily in pre sales technical support activities. Daily activities include presentations often times to the C-Level, facilitating technical discussions with Engineering, handling installs, integration, testing, and adoption of Centera in customer's technology infrastructure or in partner's solutions offering. Develop technical strategies to deliver EMC solutions that support business objectives at assigned accounts. Deliver ongoing formal and informal training and product positioning that helps assigned accounts understand the operational, financial and business impact of EMC solutions within their practice area. Analyze customer's business objectives by asking probing questions that are relevant to the customer in order to collect information from customers that enables the sales team to be more effective and responsive to customer needs. Based on customer's objectives and personal experience, configures solutions utilizing EMC products and services that provide customers and prospects with value towards achieving their objectives. 50% - 60% Travel Required.
Skills:
Familiarity with Unix and NT, networking environments, background in storage (NAS, SAN) as well as application/SW background preferred. Strong written and oral presentation skills, the ability to work effectively on a cross functional basis, strong influencing skills.
* Have the ability to understand customer business challenges and build solution to solve these challenges.
* Articulate technology value statements to customers during the pre-sales process.
* Uses knowledge of technology, products, processes, industry expertise, and consultative sales skills to educate customers on value of storage infrastructure and management.
* Positions value of EMC products and services to customers at all organizational levels.
* Conducts training for Sales and Services personnel on EMC Solutions selling.
Experience and Education
Education/Experience: BS/MS in CS, EE or CE with 5+ years hardware or software development/support experience. Minimum 3+ years experience in a Pre-Sales role required. Familiarity with Unix and NT, networking environments, programming background with API's, C++, Java or XML is a plus. Strong customer facing skills a must.
