Buddy, you don't get it. It's about knowing the rule and playing the game. You can say the game is easy if you are an expert player. If you don't know how to play and have no intention to learn, you are just out of the game. In that case, it's neither simple, nor complex to you, you are just an outsider.
As you may know relationship between local people is also complex, it requires good skill to manage. If you want improve you people skill to the same level as you used to have in china, it will be very hard. It would never be simple unless you are satisfied to be a outsider, and only use working and business language. You still could maintain a good living style without good social skill or language skill here in Canada, but those skills do help. self-improvement is important to everybody who wants to improve his/ her life quality. Where is your "white and yellow" thing from?
It has nothing to do with yellow and white. Once you emphasized too much on yellow and white, your thinking pattern is getting closer to racism. If yellow and white were so different, why should they be treated in the same way. I believe people have same human nature, difference between people is superficial. I have no cultural shock in this country, the difference of cultural only confirmed my expectation. Actually, I'm amazed by similarity of people, who belong to different ethnic group.
I just wanted to point out that there is a different choice of being, which requires effort to learn and courage to try. To me, hiding at a safe, comfortable, unnoticeable, small corner is a very cheap settlement, lacking of social binding is not OK. My goal is to understand people and get people to understand me, no matter they are white, yellow or black.
I have nothing to do with your life. It's your life, you own it and manage it. If it's ok for you, even you are in denial, that's the end of the story, plain and simple. Influenced by my life experience, I am blunt, honest, and willing to help. You like it or not, I don't care, because my manner works well for me in my life. You will be disappointed, if you expect me to hide my opinion or lie to you, it's your problem, not mine. If somebody told me that my English is poor, I would ask for more details, so that I can learn and improve my English. I know who I am, have no shame about myself, and work on my own weakness.
I started my engineer career many years ago in china. The first lesson my mentor gave me was this: "whenever an issue occurs related to your design, assume you made a mistake, and review your design thoroughly first". He is a "LAO MOU" type person. I always thought he was too strict to himself and others around him. Why wouldn't he take it easy and be nicer to himself and others? I did not really understand, but was forced to follow his way. When I came to Canada few years ago, I lost my direction for a period of time. One day, I sent out an one page resume, along with one page cover letter, where I explain my philosophy learnt from my mentor. I got the interview in the same week, and started my first engineer job in Canada next Monday. My boss, owner of the small design house, happened to have the exactly same philosophy as my mentor.
