Ottawa police major crime detectives are investigating a downtown shooting overnight which left two men dead.
Although few details are available, the shootings took place at about 2:30 a.m., in the area of Somerset and Arthur streets. Police say one man died at the scene outside the Full House karaoke bar, while the other died later in hospital. Both victims were shot numerous times, police said, and both are in their 20s.
Police say no arrests have been made. But Staff Sgt. Monique Ackland told the Sun police don't believe the crime is a random act. They stress no one else in the community is in danger. The victims' names have not been released pending notification of next of kin, who police say are not in Canada.
Meanwhile in South Glengarry Twp., OPP officers are continuing to investigate the suspicious death of a man whose body was found on South Service Rd. between Hwy. 34 and Wesley Rd. The body was discovered at about 6 p.m. Monday. Police are still trying to confirm the identity of the dead man.
