"Resale homes will not be subject to the single sales tax." My understanding is that there is no value added in a transaction of a resale house itself, so no 8% or 13% HST should be charged (since HST is a kind of value-added tax system, i.e. only new products with value added should be taxed). Of course, all services will be taxed, such as legal fees, agent commissions, etc. Somebody please correct me, if I am wrong (someone might need to sell a house this year if the 13% chared on the resale house). Thanks.
