这里应该有个责任分离的问题.

责任一, 邻居即使违章停车, 惩罚违章停车不是LZ份内的事. 在这里"以直报怨"是越权执法.

责任二, LZ可以不把车弄脏,却选择把车弄脏, 应该有一个说法. 这里不是"以德报怨", 而是"将功补过".

其一, LZ并没有私自处理停车,何来"越权执法"; 其二, LZ已经很小心不把草溅到停着的车上,更没有碰到对方的车,所以LZ无过,何来"将功补过".如LZ在割草后,清洗对方的车,以对方能给楼主写那样的要求,也有可能告LZ破坏私人财物.但凡懂得做人基本道理的,都不会把车长时间停靠在别人家的DRIVEWAY边上,却放这自己家的车道不用.LZ的"以直报怨"只不过把对方的车当成了不要直接触碰的道边石头罢了.

Just a friendly reminding that you should not park your car on the street for too long and you might get a ticket according to city by-law.

如果LZ让草沫飞往房子方向, 而有少许草沫溅到停着的车上, 这是不小心.

"方向"是可以选择的, 不是想当然.

如果我不喜欢你, 我可以把你当成不要直接触碰的道边石头向你吐唾沫吗?

车是贵重物品, 你和LZ把别人的车当成道边石头, 但我不会, 所以我认为LZ有过.

LZ邻居的过错和LZ本人的过错是要分开的. LZ 不能因为邻居的过错而将自己的过错一笔抹掉.

不是很清楚你的问题，也许他们认为他们向我要洗车费很有道理，也许他们不认为是BOTHER我，也许的也许是他们要找我查儿。

我的意思是，我不知道这种情况OWNER该负什么责任（如果有权威教授说你跟本不用支付洗车费，错在车主，我不愿枉死了），你的例子对我并不核实，我不会太CARE的。反倒是有一个疑惑不可解决：难道这种情况下OWNER不割草了，或者割完以后给你洗车（先得经你同意还是不用？到哪找你去 - 守株待兔）？

Let's put it this way as another example: You have two vechicles, but your driveway can take only one of them. Therefore, when you don't put one of them in the garage, you have to park one in the city street (the same spot that neighbour parks his car and that is the only spot you can park your car within a good distance, and you don't want to put it in the garage.) What are you going to do if your mow your lawn? Are you going to blow the wet, dirty grass clippings right onto your own car (which you do take good care of)? Or would you try your best to avoid such a thing from happening?

我觉得自己给邻居说一说比这里讨论各种情况的好。不要说：“I do not like, I do not permit“， 要说“could you please park your car on your driveway if possible, since we are worried that your car might get damaged or even ticketed because of city by-law”。我想大部分人是讲道理的。

如果还愤不过，就去市政厅抱怨让警察给他吃罚单。不过，这不是好邻居的做法。
