    Actually I love this model from Urbandale in Riverside south called solana,

    However, I was told by Urbandale that there was no 44 lot left to build this model and Urbandale may release new lots after a year in riverside south.

    So I went Richcraft. If you look at the model called foxden from richcraft that is exactly same as fillmore’s design but richcraft is asking for $467,900 in riverside south.

    Now I am holding a lot to build fillmore until the weekend. I am little afraid about this price is not worth for this model.

    1)Richcraft 的 Bancroft户型曾获得Ottawa-Carleton Home Builders' Association Awards (非地下室空间在1500呎以下的Townhouse单项)。

    2)这款户型设计完全不落俗套,和Caledonia等走传统路线的户型相比明显比较另类;其空间利用设计相当精巧、很多细部都经得起推敲。

    3)其最大的缺点就是整体空间比较小(所以便宜些么),因此直接造成第三个Bedroom小到了不能再小、只能放单人床的地步。。。不过我倒不认为它的主卧室太大,因为16-5X10-10的主卧室也只能说是刚刚合适。另外它的Bedroom 2本身并不算太小,而且方方正正、窗户位置合适因此做双人客房是足够的。

    4)主层的设计完全是开敞风格,但这既是优点也是缺点。如果拘泥于Living Room那块空间的话就会显得局促一些,更不可能放下电视什么的。。。但如果Dining Room另作它用,就可能有很多新思路。至于地下室,其实并不算大(相对Carledonia来说),而且壁炉居中挺碍事的。

    5)所以对这款不落俗套的设计,喜欢它或者拒绝它可能出现两极分化,端看评论者自己。而房主自己今后的空间布置、装饰细节什么的,相比其他传统户型对整个居住氛围的提升的作用相对更大(网上见过有比样板房更好看的布置)。

    6)特别提醒一下孩子比较小的父母:Living Room传统摆沙发或椅子的位置紧靠楼梯栏杆,太小的孩子不懂事,可能翻下去造成重大伤害,一定要事先防范。。。另外楼上的sitting area也需要严格限制孩子进入,否则孩子可能踩着桌椅爬上栏杆,一翻下去可就不得了。

    Mattamy Homes also took the award for Best Single-Family Home 2,000-2,499 Square Feet for their Oakriver model in the same subdivision.

    Holitzner Homes walked away with the award for Best Single-Family Home 2,500-2,999 Square Feet for their Gilmore model in Stittsville.

    The Best Single-Family Home 3,000-3,999 Square Feet was awarded to Campanale Homes for their Regal I model in Prince of Wales on the Rideau.

    The Best Adult Lifestyle Model Home (Attached) Award went to Monarch Corporation for their St. Andrews model in Barrhaven. The Best Adult Lifestyle Model Home (Detached) Award was given to Elite Home Designs Inc.

    The Best Condo Model Suite Under $200/Square Foot went to Urbandale Construction for the Harmony model. It’s part Urbandale’s Jazz condo series in Kanata.

    Cardel Homes took the award for Best Estate Lot Model for their Mitchell model in Richmond. Monarch Corporation walked away with the Grand Sammy Award for 2007. They also took the award for Best Project Logo/Identity and Best Builder Sales Office.

    Mattamy Homes took home the award for Best Builder Project Brochure while Deslaurier Custom Cabinets walked away with the award for Best Trade/Renovator Brochure. The award for Best Marketing Innovation went to Urbandale Construction.

    Gaylord Forest Products took the awards for Best Web Site and Best Trade Showroom. Avenue Design was also recognized for their print ad and brochure work.

    谢谢点评。 很长见识。我家领导已经拿定主意买Bancroft. 其实我喜欢Urbandale 的 Sausalito, 特别是Kanata Lakes 的Model home, 可惜不卖。

    I personally like Sapphire A better. The extra money spent on Ridgecrest can be used to do a lot of upgrades on Sapphire, like granite countertop, hardwood stair, etc. I have been to a Ridgecrest being built, and the impression is not very good.

    Pros of Sapphire:
    Spacious living room, spacious open-to-above, door to kitchen from dining room, tall ceiling in master
    Cons:
    smaller bedrooms, master has "half" cathedral ceiling

    Pros of Ridgecrest:
    extra study, slightly larger bedrooms, full cathedral in master
    Cons:
    dark narrow upper hallway, narrow living/dining rooms, narrow open-to-above, small closets, and more expensive :)

    呵呵,urbandale的户型PASADENA,楼上带LOFT的那种应该就是你喜欢的设计,整个房子给人的感觉很宽敞舒适,不吝啬空间,楼下客厅的吊棚也很高,但好像算面积的;美中不足的是楼上只有两个房间,虽然都不小,总感觉房间还是少了点,洗衣间也在上面,主卧在车库上面不知道冬天的取暖好不好??我感觉也不错,正在考虑中。。:confused:

    个人目前对riverside south的看法: 环境好,没什么污染,位置也不错,价格也还算公道。但是最大的问题还是发展问题,很多年前去那里的小区,到现在新的小区,这么多年路一直说修宽,到现在都没修好。周边的设施实在太少,除了大统华比较吸引人外,几乎没别的便利设施在附近。社区发展缓慢,不仅会严重影响升值空间,也会增添很多不便。但是如果大桥真能及时修好,的确会让这片地炙手可热。但问题是加拿大的效率让人没有信心。
    barheaven发展时间长,投资大。已经是个大型的社区,周边的设施非常便利,至于飞机噪音问题,我自己中心地带亲自体验,声音非常小,基本可以忽略,当然也许有的地方会大些,可是新区完全不受影响。 至于堵车问题,自己正好在那里上班并且是rush hour时间,从来没赌过。prince of vales 虽然是单行,但是很奇怪的是完全不堵,可能归功于那条线路行驶速度非常快的原因吧,再加上barheaven四周交通四方八大,大大舒缓交通问题。但是它的最大的弊端也是因为非常成熟价格偏高,而且新区确实比较偏远。
    自己其实也在这两个区选择间挣扎。期待高人指教

    个人不太希望大桥通过来,因为到时候肯定会有很多BARHAVEN的车过来,反倒会让RIVERSIDE SOUTH这边的交通变糟.
