The ideal candidate for this volunteer position: is a self-starter who's willing to give your time and talent has an existing network of contacts and loves bringing people together
Benefits: Learn how to be a mentor and make referrals Learn about programs & services Learn how to engage diverse communities Learn how to do a program evaluation Gain Canadian experience Receive Training, level I (year 1), Training Level II (year 2 – optional)
As a community leader, you need to be able to commit to the following: Attend 2 training workshops Attend monthly community leader team meetings Host 4-6 small casual social gatherings over the course of a year Attend and accompany community members to the monthly multicultural potluck Commit to attend at minimum one community meeting each month Be resource person for friends and community Help organize and attend year end multicultural conference that
addresses neighborhood strengths. Actively provide feedback on community issues.
