Greek is based on Cyrillics, different from the Romance Languages such as French, German, English etc which are based on Latin alphabets. Russian is also based on Cyrillics, something to do with their common religion, the Eastern Orthodox.

so I suppose people use Greek to refer sth. that is very foreign for them, or sth. that appears to be from a completely different system of thinking/wording etc., am I correct?
