A senior accused of stabbing his 82-year-old wife to death with a hunting knife in a Barrhaven long-term care home has died of prostate cancer in hospital, the Citizen has learned. Ian Flann, 82, was charged with first-degree murder in the stabbing death of his wife, Doreen, on Dec. 26 at Longfields Manor. Flann had been under police guard in hospital since his arrest.
