contract的工作能领EI吗?

若是contract的工作,工作时间超过7个月,能领EI吗?

这取决于你注册的什么样的business,如果是corporation,而且你的股份超过一个比例的话,就不能领了.其他情况下可以领.到HRDC仔细打听一下.

self-employed contractors（自己报税的）不能领EI。如果作为term-employee是可以享受EI的。

I worked before on a 6 month contract and got the EI after it finished. There is a table on HRDC's website where you can find the eligible hours for receiving EI benefits. It varies from region to region since unemployment rates are different. Generally, half year of full time work is enough to qualify you for EI. You'd better go to HRDC and consult the staffs there to find the answer to your situation. Good luck! By the way, you can renew EI if you find a job when receiving EI but not finish it and unfortunately lose the job again.
