Hi,

I bought a 64 G wifi version last Friday but it looks we can't fill the iPad that much since iCloud is there if capacity is reached. I am thinking to replace it with a 32G Lte version since the price is almost the same. I really want to know if the Lte(4G) iPad bought here can be used for 中囯电信或联通4G无线上网 when I go back to China? Does the new iPad with Lte support wireless protocols used in China now?
thanks.

据说LTE只支持北美电信商,美国加拿大. 其他地域不支持.

Wifi应该是支持的.

奇怪,名单上没中国,这回不当领头羊啦?

IPAD 3 (New IPAD) 4G AT&T版本还没有拿到中国去过,不过我买的IPAD (1st generation)和IPAD 2 (2rd generation) AT&T版可以用联通的3G, 需要用剪刀把联通的卡剪小.

买IPAD3 at&t (4g) 或者 Rogers (4g)就可以了. 4g 可以back compatible with 3g.

This is what I saw in Apple official web page about the new iPad:
Ready to take on the world.
The new iPad offers the most comprehensive support for fast networks around the world. It’s designed with two cellular antennas tuned to 12 different bands that access a larger frequency spectrum. That means you can travel almost anywhere in the world and get online. And your connection is always fast. iPad with Wi-Fi + 4G models for AT&T and for Verizon connect to GSM/UMTS networks worldwide. But if you want a local connection when you’re traveling, just pop in a local SIM card.

Can someone answer my questions:
1. My understanding is any iPad3 4G(AT&T or Verizon) can go back to 3G or 2G 2.5G whereever you travel to so in China I can just buy a 3G SIM card and get wireless connection no matter if LTE network is available or not. Is this true. This will help me to get internet connection when I am in China or outside of North America.

2. I am having a Rogers phone now and has a 100M monthly data plan to use under GPRS/EDGE (2.5G). Does iPad3 with 4G (both AT&T or Verison versions) support GPRS/EDGE at all? Would it be possible that I use the same SIM card and put into iPad3 to get GPRS/EDGE slow connection too? I don't care speed but do want to re-use the same SIM card so I can at least to use iPad3 to use light use apps like e-mail or view a few e magzies. I went to see a Rogers sales rep and he told me that I can only use micro-lte SIM card with iPad3 4G so I am getting confusing now.

3. Apple mentioned that iPad3 (the new iPad) 4G has a assited GPS but I am not sure if this means a real GPS chip with physical GPS signal receiver like Marmin or Tomtom or just has to be used along with a 4G network to locate the position? Can I use the new iPad 4G to do off line map navigation like a real GPS(TomTom) if I have map downloaded in iPad3 already? Do anyone of yours have a iPad 1 or iPad2 with 3G that tested the GPS off line ability?

4. If I need to choose one the new iPad 4G between AT&T and Verizon , which one I should buy? Do both have capability to run 3G SIM card cause I know iPad2 verizon version doesn't have SIM card since it is for CDMA network?

5. Final one, will 32G model big enough foe normal use? How big is your guru's model? Are you able to return it if you order it through Apple store with some customized Engraving words?

Need your iPad gurus to help me out. Thanks.
