Montfort looks for seven-figure savings after provincial funding cuts

The Montfort Hospital is looking for $1.2 million in savings to balance its budget after having its funding cut under a new provincial payment model. However, the one-per-cent shortfall will not affect patient services since the hospital is cutting costs by freezing executive salaries and curbing administrative spending, said Danny Purcell, Montfort’s chief financial officer.
