Citizens’ group says treat trees, don’t kill them

Residents’ groups are beginning to push Ottawa to treat more ash trees and to cut down fewer of them. Treating them with a chemical that kills emerald ash borer beetles is as cheap — over a period of say, 12 years — as cutting most of the 75,000 ash trees on city land, and a lot prettier, they say.
