CCFS-Ottawa Statement on the death of Chinese student Jun Lin
The Canada-China Friendship Society of Ottawa would like to express its shock and sadness over the recent death of Jun Lin, a Chinese student at Concordia University in Montreal.
Mr. Jun Lin, 33, was brutally murdered in Montreal recently. The police are searching for an identified suspect.
Every year, thousands of students from China come to study in Canadian universities. Canadian universities are of high quality and Canada is normally a safe and welcoming environment for these students, who are usually highly motivated and make a great addition to Canadian campuses.
The CCFS-Ottawa would like to express its deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Mr. Lin. We urge Canadian authorities to make all possible efforts to ensure that the responsible person is brought to justice.
