Ottawa condo cited in Heatley lawsuit against former agent

OTTAWA — Ex-Ottawa Senators star Dany Heatley is suing his former agent and business adviser for $11 million for a number of failed real estate ventures, including his purchase of an Ottawa condominium in the ByWard Market. According to the Toronto Globe and Mail, a lawsuit filed in an Alberta court by Heatley, now with the Minnesota Wild, alleges that former agent Stacey McAlpine and McAlpine’s parents, Gerald and Eugenia, convinced Heatley to buy into real estate deals in Canada and the United States that would generate big returns. Those returns never came Heatley’s way.
