Firefighters from across Canada gather every September to remember those who have died in the line of duty or as the result of work-related illnesses. The Peace Tower on Parliament Hill is typically the backdrop for the sombre ritual, but Sunday’s event was held in LeBreton Flats, at the site of a stunning new national monument.
