Mother of seriously ill newborn left stranded after van stolen from CHEO parking lot

OTTAWA — A North Bay mother of five who has spent the past three weeks at Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario with her newborn girl, anxiously awaiting a diagnosis, returned to the parking lot Tuesday afternoon only to learn that her van had been stolen. “What kind of person comes to a hospital for sick children and steals a vehicle out of the parking lot?” asked Darcy Sheridan, 32, hours after her van was stolen. “That’s my vehicle and I have kids at home, so I’m not sure how I’m going to get around.”
