Watson backs new Ottawa casino

Mayor Jim Watson is backing a new casino for Ottawa, on condition that the money it generates for the city be spent on infrastructure projects and economic development. Watson has previously made positive noises about the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp.’s desire to expand beyond its slot machines at the Rideau Carleton Raceway in the south end, but took to Twitter Monday afternoon to make his support explicit.
