A Gatineau-area man who over-powered his jail guards while waiting for a medical examination was believed to be heading for the Outaouais late Thursday. Claude Dorion Jr., 36, had been in the Quebec detention centre in Saint-Jérôme in the Laurentian while awaiting trial. On Thursday, he was being escorted by two guards who were taking him to Saint-Jérôme for a medical appointment when he overpowered the guards and fled.
