What was this week’s five-hour evening session on casinos really about? Ostensibly, it was for council’s powerful finance and economic development committee to debate whether Ottawa wanted a casino “in principle.” But it was hard to figure out how councillors had gauged what the people of Ottawa think about the idea of a new gambling hall.
