OTTAWA — What was meant to be a routine search warrant execution at a house on Fairlea Crescent in 2007 turned into standoff with police that lasted more than an hour before two Crips street gang members surrendered. But the gang members used that time to hide an illegal sawed-off .22-calibre rifle in an air vent on the second floor.
