Officer pleads guilty in ByWard Market incident

An Ottawa police officer could lose eight days of pay after he pleaded guilty Friday to a charge of discreditable conduct under the Police Services Act for punching a man in the head in the ByWard Market. An internal police investigation was launched after a video showing Const. Jason Bennett punching a man near Dalhousie and George streets on Jan. 29 was posted on YouTube.
