Haz-mat team called to Confederation Building for suspicious package

OTTAWA — Three people were isolated in the Confederation Building for more than four hours after being exposed to a suspicious package on Thursday afternoon. They were assessed by paramedics and released after the package was examined and the surrounding area deemed safe just before 8:30 p.m., said Ottawa Fire Services spokesperson Marc Messier.
