OTTAWA — Gerard Bélec is searching for the beginning to a story that, to this point, only has an ending. In front of him is a white piece of paper, blank except for a box in the bottom right-hand corner. He’s already passed to someone else a picture he drew which depicted the back end of a car below the words, “We left town soon after.”
