City freezes plans for tallest condo tower in town

Plans for the tallest building in Ottawa are on hold while the city tries to figure out what’s going on with the condo boom at the south end of Preston Street. Earlier this year, Claridge Homes filed a formal request for new zoning that would allow it to build a 42-storey condo tower called the “Claridge Icon” at 505 Preston St., just north of Dow’s Lake.
