OTTAWA — Paul Goldberger, a leading architecture critic in the United States, recalls Ottawa as “having a kind of rather formal grandeur to it and not being particularly dense but feeling almost like a great campus.” Goldberger, who last visited the capital in 1988 to review the opening of the National Gallery of Canada, will give a free public lecture at the gallery on Monday at 6 p.m. He will talk about the evolution of cities in the digital age and describes his message as: “Cherish the city you have and protect it.”
