School bus drivers avert strike in Western Quebec

OTTAWA — School bus drivers in Western Quebec continued their routes Monday morning after averting a potential strike that could have seen nearly 17,000 students affected. Drivers from four school boards — Draveurs, Portages-de-L’Outaouais, Hauts-Bois-de-l’Outaouais and Western Quebec — were on the job. Three of the four school bus companies agreed on new deals between Friday and Monday and a fourth company said it would not stop operations on Monday.
