Soft Power of China

This has been posted by other here in this board, but I guess it deserves a new look. If China really wants to improve its image around the world, or uses its soft power to advance its interests better, stories of Luo's and the like are certainly more powerful than tens of thousands of high-rise buildings in Shanghai, advanced bullet trains, or fancy shopping malls, or tens of thousands of five dimers. Take a look at, in particular the comments from those westerners who use to criticize the communist China, sometimes wantonly without any reasons :

My personal opinion, this is perhaps one of the most powerful and successful achievements of Communist China in propaganda (my heart hopes the fact of this story is genuine and no deception):

Makes sense why he is not moving. Proper compensation is in order.

I'm surprised the government doesn't just take the house. In Canada they would throw you out by force. Very funny, people have more rights in a Communist country than a Democracy.

They can build a sky-rise in 30 days but they do not want to build him a house. it seems, like all governments, they do not want to help the little guy. they would rather spend all their money on weapons like aircraft carriers and missiles.
