I had a flat tire yesterday and went to the above auto center for replacing since I bought all 4 tires from this store last year.
I was asked to pay for 60% of remaining ($68 before tax). Since I did not believe that my broken tire had only 60% remaining after driving 11115 km, I asked to show me how they got this number by putting used tire and new tire side by side and measured them in my presence. Both immediate staff and the manager refused to satisfy me by simple measurement. In addition, they refused me to keep the used/broken tire for my future appeal. Their behaviors were so bad that they asked me pay it and forced me to leave the store in 2 min. I was overcharged for 50% ($38.42 out of $76.84 with tax).
This morning, neighbour measured my other 3 used tires (all 8 mm in depth, 80% remaining) and the new one (10 mm, 100% remaining) and supported my notion that I was overcharged yesterday.
I called the head office to complain and was given a reference number. I am not sure I can get the money back in the end. Anyway, it was very stressful.
I will never go to this store (as follows) any more.
