‘Substantial damage’ cited in lawsuit against city over alleged sewer backups

Three west-side homes suffered “substantial damage” after sewer backups two years ago, their owners claim in a lawsuit against the city. Three sets of homeowners from Kanata’s Bridlewood neighbourhood allege in the suit against the city and an unnamed contractor that they found sewer backups in their basements on Dec. 9, 2010. They’re seeking damages of at least $100,000 from the defendants “or each of them,” the statement of claim says.
