Most major Canadian cities are offering free transit service again this year (with some changes, mostly for the better, from previous years), so leave the car at home and enjoy your first free ride of 2013.We've found free transit service being offered in the following centres:
- Vancouver - free service from 5PM December 31 until 5AM January 1
- Calgary - free service from 6PM
- Edmonton - free service from 6PM December 31 until 3:30AM January 1
- Regina - free service from 7PM December 31 until 2:15AM January 1
- Saskatoon - free service from 8PM December 31 until 2:45AM January 1
- Winnipeg - free service from 7PM December 31 until 1:38AM (approximately) on January 1
- Ottawa - free service from 8PM on December 31 to 4AM on January 1
- Toronto TTC - free service from 10PM on December 31 to 4AM on January 1
- Toronto - GO Service is free after 8PM
- Montreal - Family Outings discount allows up to 5 children under the age of 12 to ride free when accompanied by a paying adult
- Halifax - free bus, ferry, and Access-A-Bus service from 8:30PM
