OTTAWA — The National Capital Region recorded net gains of 3,300 in employment from November to December, according to a report released Friday by Statistics Canada. The improvement helped to nudge the jobless rate down to 6.6 per cent compared to 6.7 per cent in November. Across Canada, the unemployment rate also declined slightly to 7.1 per cent in December compared to 7.2 per cent in November. These figures are adjusted for seasonal influences.
