Nine-storey building proposed for Bank and Flora streets

A nine-storey mixed-use building proposed for the southwest corner of Bank and Flora streets “will make a positive contribution to the streetscape” at the south end of the Centretown heritage conservation district, say city staff. The proposed new building at 488-500 Bank St. — the current home of European Glass and Paint — would require rezoning but is OK from a heritage standpoint, staff say in a report to the city’s Ottawa built heritage advisory committee.
