Bust a Move drops Jenny MCCarthy

The Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation has axed plans to bring Jenny McCarthy to its Bust A Move charity fundraiser next month after a storm of protest against the actress and author known for promoting the belief that there is a link between childhood vaccinations and autism. McCarthy was named earlier this week as the headliner for the Mar. 2 event at the Ottawa Athletic Club, a fundraiser to support breast cancer programs throughout Eastern Ontario. But her appointment as the event’s celebrity spokesperson sparked a number of angry letters to the Foundation and a Twitter campaign using the hashtag #dropjenny asking the charity to cut ties with her.
