City should prepare for licensed grow ops: report

OTTAWA — The city should consider how to regulate commercial medical marijuana grow operations that might set up under proposed changes to federal rules, say staff. The planned changes would see Health Canada stop issuing licences for authorized users to grow medical marijuana at home for themselves or on behalf of a limited number of users, says a staff report. Instead, licensed commercial grow ops would be the only places allowed to produce the drug for medical use.
