Toyota Matrix 这款车怎么样?

then I don't need say anything about Corolla.

Matrix has higher ceiling above driver seat, more comfortable for taller driver, as well as the seats.

If you have no big car(s) in your family, it could be helpful if you want time to time transport something big.

Feel slightly more massive and stable while driving.

It is supposed to be as reliable as Corolla. And it was the case to the one I had (drove from ~ 90k to ~ 260k). Only extra money spent to it was the replacement of the windshield.

One experience I had with the Matrix I had (04 XR) was that sometime the car was vibrating for a short period time /for a short distance after turning on the street. Although it had no impact to driving and it didn’t always happen and I never thought to try fixing it, it’s something I haven’t seen on any other cars I have driven. I hope it is not a common problem of Matrix.

Thank you so much for all detail information. I'm really appreciated.

RT 谢谢!

1. What is your budget?
2. How long will you keep your car ?
3. Why pick Matrix? It has hatchback, or, good on gas, or ...
4. Reliability, Safety, Gas mileage, Resale value, Engine size, Trunk space, ...

pick a manual golf which is a better car

Although personally more prefer a German car, I got some advices that it's more often that you need to get something on the car to be fixed. Maintenance cost is also a little bit higher.

what car do/did you drive?
2013年的高尔夫还是德国产的, 质量还是杠杠的, 我现在就在开,我的是2012年的,

2014的就是墨西哥产的了, 不推荐

1. If it is under 25K, with hatchback, Matrix seems to be the only choice. If between 25K to 30K, you have a lot of choices:
a) Mazda 3 sports (skyactiv is very good on gas), and I think the engine size is 2.5 L (Corolla is 1.8, Matrix has a 2.4 L version)
b) Subaru Impreza (2.0 L, AWD, 100 % built in Japan)
2. If you want to trade-in or sell your car after five years, you have to consider cars that are good in RESIDUAL values, and there is a BLACK book that car dealers, Government (if you sell/buy a used car not through car dealer), insurance company (when your car is total lost during car accident) refer to as reference. Most Japanese cars are good on car residual values.
3. Unfortunately your budget is "两万来刀", if your budget is 35 K, you have the following (SUV)
a) Honda CRV
b) Toyota RAV4
c) Subaru Forester (I myself consider the best at this price range)
4. reliability means your car won't break down easily, the most horrible scenario would be TRANSMISSION failure. And reliable car means you don't need to spend much money to fix the car. If I am a garage mechanic, I don't want you to own a reliable car , 8-)). Do you know what cars are DRIVING Instructors favorite? If you know their reason why they pick those cars, then you have some idea what cars are good on gas, reliable, and easy to maintain.
There is one magazine I like to read (since 1992), Consumer Reports (not Consumers Digest), each year its April edition has a comprehensive reports on cars. Also you can find many car reviews by visiting http://www.wheels.ca
LZ, please remember it is your money, your hard earned money, I myself will pick a reliable car and have peace of mind for at least ten years, or even longer.
Good luck.
