Some eastbound lanes of the Queensway will be closed this weekend for bridge construction.
The closures will be in effect from May 31 to June 2 to allow crews to work on the bridge near Carling and Kirkwood avenue.
The bridge will eventually be replaced using rapid replacement construction techniques, which allows for replacement during a single overnight closure of the highway after the new section is constructed nearby.
The date of rapid replacement has not been determined.
This weekend’s lane closures affect the highway from Maitland to Parkdale. The highway is:
Reduced to one lane from 9 p.m. Friday to 10 a.m. Saturday
Reduced to two lanes from 10 a.m. Saturday to 9 p.m. Saturday
Reduced to one lane from 9 p.m. to 10 a.m. Sunday.
Reduced to two lanes from 10 a.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.
