Mohamed Harkat can expect some slight easing of his restrictive bail conditions, but the federal government insists he needs to continue wearing the GPS ankle bracelet that has been strapped to his body for seven years. But Harkat’s lawyer Matt Webber told Federal Court judge Simon Noel Tuesday that Harkat had been forced to wear the GPS bracelet for too long and it was causing the terrorist suspect “incredible hardship.”
