No charges laid after baby girl abandoned at Ottawa Hospital

OTTAWA — A baby girl was found abandoned on a linen cart at the Ottawa Hospital’s Civic campus Sunday, but police said they have located the newborn’s mother and no charges are expected to be laid. “There are some circumstances around this one that are a little different than an abandonment,” said Ottawa police Staff Sgt. Angela McDade, who wouldn’t elaborate further about why the mother left the child.
