SIU clears Ottawa police officer who shot man in Orléans

An Ottawa police officer did not act criminally when he shot 20-year-old knife-wielding Lenny Sanguya in the chest and arm in early June in Orléans, the Special Investigations Unit has found. SIU director Ian Scott has found no reasonable grounds to charge the officer after an investigation that saw four investigators and two forensic specialists analyze evidence, and interview six officers and 25 civilians who witnessed the shooting on Tenth Line Road.
